Foresteria Sociale Florence Center stands in a wig of the Ognissanti Convent, on the right shore of the Arno river.

It is in piazza Ognissanti, in the Est side of Florence historical centre, at 3 minutes from the train station Santa Maria Novella and a short walk from the Duomo.

The Convent of Ognissanti, is a place that tells a story of saints, poets and navigators. Jealously guards priceless treasures of paintings, secrets of Florentine nobility, and a monumental last supper by Domenico Ghirlandaio, painted in 1480. You can enter in this mysterious world by walking down the passageway next to the church where you will emerge from dim light into a bright Renaissance cloister. Your curious eyes will find frescoed lunettes on each wall of the entrance of the wide refectory of the convent, founded by the order of Umiliati friars in the thirteenth century.
Thanks to generous donations from wealthy Florentines, such as the Vespucci’s and Lenzi’s, who lived closeby, the church and the convent were decorated by the greatest Florentine masters of their times: Giotto, Botticelli and Ghirlandaio.

Outside the Foresteria Sociale Florence Center, you find yourself in Borgo Ognissanti, which represents another of the small number of natural commercial centres of Florence. Here you will find every type of product and valuable artisanal goods.

Right in front of the Foresteria Sociale Florence Center you can take a stroll by the Arno river surrounded by monuments, churches, works of grand artists, and cultural institutes.

Walking on the path to the Duomo you will encounter a bustling and a bit bohemian neighbourhood: the courtyards that connect in a maze of little alleyways and streets are home to art galleries, antique dealers, bookshops, boutiques, ethnic markets and trendy restaurants.
